I have to thank John Stanley for getting me into windsurfing. After helping him with a computer problem and refusing to take any money for doing it he insisted he gave me something. In his garage he had an old Rainbow long board and offered it to me for the help I had given. This board was the start of the change of my regular life. Windsurfing is a great sport and I am thankful that from taking it up and becoming addicted to it I have travelled because of it, and met many great friends in places I would probably not visited otherwise. I would encourage anyone who loves the water to give it a go you never know where it will take you.

Back in the summer of 1982 my parents bought a windsurfer (like almost every family in Holland did back then) and took me and my sister to a small lake near home. It was in that summer I found the thing for me to do, windsurfing! I got addicted to it from the very start and windsurfing became and still is one of the biggest passions in my life.

Go out and have fun as much as you can ! No matter your level or ambition , you can always improve and learn new stuff but the most important of all is to simply enjoy being out there.

My parents love sailing and put me up for Optimist sailing lessons on a small lake nearby when I was a kid. After a couple of years sailing I had my first windsurf attempt and was hooked from day one. After years of windsurfing at a famous center in Almanarre, France I got the opportunity to become an instructor there during the summers. During college I found a second passion and 10 years of professional dj’ing and nightlife had made me forgot how much I love windsurfing. The weekend after I decided I had had it with the nightlife I was on the water again for the first time in well over ten years. Since that day I have been doing the craziest things to get am many good sessions in as possible.

PS A big thanks to my friends here on windhut for all the great tips, sessions and after sessions.

My name is Manolis Lambros,my job is teaching people how to enjoy windsurfing. Started the basic steps at the age of 16 on the island of Rhodes and kept on doing it for the next 4 summers there. After an accident I didn’t ride the board for the next 4-5 years until I started it again after a push from my friends in Club Mistral Karpathos. Ever since I never stopped windsurfing, I tried to do it all year around and I found out that is a bit hard in the winter in Greece, so I decided to join Club Mistral and after that I joined Fun System which I work for until now. Currently I am working in Dahab and enjoying my freestyle sessions, some wave sessions too!!!, with my good friend from Club Mistral Dahab, Matt
