If you love strong wind windsurfing Karapthos Greece is the place for you in the summer. I visited there a couple of summers ago and its mental. Great fun spot, fantastic club at Anamos with a bar restaurant upstairs so you can enjoy some lunch and a beer while watching the action.

Windy Christmas at Le Morne Mauritius 1

Posted by Buzz Mon, 21 Dec 2009 06:29:00 GMT

Christmas is on the way and over here in Mauritius for windsurfers and kiters looks like Santa is going to deliver a big Christmas sack of wind to coincide with a very uncrowded spot.

South East wind brings us cross to cross onshore and you can add around 10 knots to the forecast on Windguru so looks like Christmas day is going to treat us to around 20 knots.

Checkout the forecast on Windguru

Don’t forget you can view the spot on the Club Mistral webcam at Le Morne

Best wishes and happy windsurfing

Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Mauritius Le Morne 51

Posted by Buzz Sat, 19 Dec 2009 19:14:00 GMT

I know there are many people who think SUP is not really a pure kinda sport but I am an addict to it.

After discovering that learning to surf was damn hard work I tried a Mistral SUP that we have in the Club Mistral at Le Morne and within the first session I had managed to catch my first wave without a sail in my hands and it was GREAT!!!

Since last summer I have clocked up hours on the SUP and we have now a range from Fanatic Fly Wood Edition 9’6 to 11’6 Pacifico with more Fanatic including 10, 10’6 and 11 for people to try at the center. It does not have to be radical, its great exercise and even just cruising through the lagoon over the clear turquoise water looking down at the aquarium below is a great way to pass time and be out on the water. For the more radical Small reef offers the perfect training ground from a mellow day like the one in the pics to some good size 2 to 3 meters waves perfect for stand up paddling. Manawa on some days can also be a real great ride so once again even if the wind is not blowing Le Morne Mauritius can offer it all.

Thinking of your next trip to Le Morne in Mauritius to sample the wind and waves, well this would not be complete without a special pic for that special memory. Jose and his team along with their boat are able to offer a whole range of possibilities to get those all important shots of you on the water no matter if you are wndsurfing or kitesurfing in the lagoon, Manawa, Small Reef or One Eye.
