Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Mauritius Le Morne 4
I know there are many people who think SUP is not really a pure kinda sport but I am an addict to it.
After discovering that learning to surf was damn hard work I tried a Mistral SUP that we have in the Club Mistral at Le Morne and within the first session I had managed to catch my first wave without a sail in my hands and it was GREAT!!!
Since last summer I have clocked up hours on the SUP and we have now a range from Fanatic Fly Wood Edition 9’6 to 11’6 Pacifico with more Fanatic including 10, 10’6 and 11 for people to try at the center. It does not have to be radical, its great exercise and even just cruising through the lagoon over the clear turquoise water looking down at the aquarium below is a great way to pass time and be out on the water. For the more radical Small reef offers the perfect training ground from a mellow day like the one in the pics to some good size 2 to 3 meters waves perfect for stand up paddling. Manawa on some days can also be a real great ride so once again even if the wind is not blowing Le Morne Mauritius can offer it all.

Few Pics From Small Reef Le Morne Mauritius 29-07-2009
Few pics from today which was a lot less stressful than yesturday when the hotel boathouse speedboat was flipped upside down in the waves while they tried to rescue a guest on the all inclusive windsurfing kit and their boat ran out of petrol eeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr can you imagine. So as normal the Club Mistral safety team went out and bought back them all back.
sorry about the quality of the pics the boat was moving around a bit and its only a small pocket camera but you’ll get the idea hehe.

Few pics of Buzz at Le Morne Mauritius
Just a few pics from a previous session in the Lagoon and Small Reef. As I said in a previous post got a bit distracted with Facebook so will catch up a little on here and then add some new juicy stuff from the current season, which is shaping up to be a windy one hehe.
These pics were very kindly taken by Ernstfried Prade the original designer of the Mistral M dot while he was over here in Mauritius doing a photo shoot for some of the new Mistral Fashion thanks Ernstfried very much they are really great especially as I don’t get so many chances to have some nice pics taken during the busy season at the centre.
Anyways today another windy one, we had a good 19 knots average with some nice 2 to 2.5 meter waves in Small Reef, also with the SE swell we had the past couple of days Manawa was working really nice as well. The wind looks set to stay the next week so fingures crossed some more good times to be had by all on the water here in the paradise spot of Mauritius.
Also added an amusing article on me by Peter Hart hehe if you haven’t seen it enjoy its full of the Harty humour..
That’s it for today take care everyone best wishes and happy windsurfing.
