Buzz In The UK
Sorry to all for the lack of updates but I am on the move at the moment.
I left Dahab 14th June and travelled to The Club Mistral Head office in Munich. It was great to see the team in Germany and to be able to spend some time there. The weather was great sunny and warm humdulala.
Flew into the UK on the 16th and have been doing year end accounts for the business, catching up with friends and trying to find time to go windsurfing, weather allowing.
Yesturday 24th June finaly managed to get out with my good friend Fred who very kindly collected me and my kit and took me over to Shoreham down on the South Coast UK near Brighton. It wasn’t looking too promising to start with but the wind did kick in, until in the end I was overpowered on 5.8.
After the flat waters of Dahab it was great to get out in some good old south coast conditions, cross onshore from the right SW wind blowing a good 5 sometimes.
Have to say the local bunch at Shoreham are a very friendly bunch. Special thanks to the lady who made Fred and I a cup of much needed tea and furnished us with a kit kat. It was also great to see so many women out on the water. Would be great to see a few more kids out ripping it up, its a shame there are not more younger people visibly taking the sport up over here its a great way to stay fit and a great community spirited lifestyle.
Travel begins again on the 28th flying back to Germany to pick up some kit and move on to Karapathos where I will meet up with Bob, Manolis and Svetlana for a few weeks of windsurfing and Inshallah the opportunity to work on a few more pics, videos and tips with the guys for the site.
Wherever you are have a great summer wishing you all lots of sunny windy days out on the water with your friends.
Best regards and happy windsurfing.
Best regards and hugs to the team in Dahab
Buzz - Reda and MattG Go Snorkling
During the windless spell we have had here we started to go and do a bit of snorkling. Myself, Reda and a friend of mine Matt visiting from the UK took a trip up to the Napolian reef. The flash movie version doesn’t really give you the best quality view of the coral and fish so probably best to download the wmv if you want to get the full effect.
Anyway enjoy, under the water here is such a contrast to the bland desert landscape a real ying and yang.
Click the picture below to view the video online and find the option to download the higher quality WMV (The WMV is much better than the SWF online)

Quick Update From Dahab 22-05-2007
Well after 30 days of either no wind or wind around 3-4 bft for 2 hours in the morning it seems the wind has finaly returned. Yesturday was a steady force 6bft and today 6-7bft.
Didn’t have much opportunity to sail yesturday but did manage 40 minutes at 8:00am with a Mistral SL 105 and a 6.6 R-Type (maxed)
Previous days have been taken up with frisbee and snorkling (took some video will post some Red Sea underwater delights tomorrow night). Its quite amazing here the landscape is very dry and barron but under the water is beautiful and alive so its worth checking it out.
Hopefuly the wind will stay for a few days so we can get some more video done and posted up for your enjoyment.
Take care and happy windsurfing.
HOT HOT HOT
Well that is what it is here in Dahab at the moment. We seem to be suffering a long windless spell making the place a little warmer than normal for this time of year. Today we had around 38-40 degrees.
We are all in need of a good windsurf session so we can only hope that the forecast for tomorrow is correct and the North wind blows again.
Big respect to all who sailed in the big down wind session from Pagham to Brighton back home in the UK, I would have loved to join. The idea was fab and I hope it had a lot of support.
Thats it for today hot, no wind but living in hope.
Best regards and happy windsurfing to all
Quick Update
Well what can I say it has been a very busy April so unfortunatly I have not had so much time to update the site, sorry about that to those who visit regularly.
For those of you who are waiting for the download of the video clinic 25-04-2007 I should have some time to post it on Thursday as well as the best bits for Mike and Ian and the short clip from the boat for John so don’t panic they are all on the way.
Bob also made a visit to Dahab so we have a few more videos nailed down for the instruction section, won’t be long…!!!
Best regards from all of us at WindHut take care and happy surfing.
Buzz Gets a New Kitchen
Everyone who knows me well will know that I am not that fussed about getting things finished around the house. Once I have all of the facilities I need to live such as a computer, TV/DVD somewhere to sit, somewhere to sleep and somewhere to get a shower I tend not to worry too much.
Anyway after 9 months of living with a kitchen made from the various packing boxes that the above Buzz essential items came in I have to say it is great to finaly have a new kitchen in my flat in Dahab. The local guys did a great job and I am almost dumbfound at the fact that after the counter guy came to fit the work top the carpenter came and everything just fitted together. Humdulila!!
